Emirates Flight Catering employs 5,400 staff and provides in-flight catering and support services for airlines at Dubai International Airport.
The new catering facility dedicated to service the flights of Emirates Airline is now fully operational. This facility has a design capacity of 115,000 meal tray set-ups per day and features high levels of automation, including an electric monorail system for transporting meal carts, a bin conveyor system to transport equipment, and a vacuum system for the disposal of waste from all areas of the building. The existing catering facility will remain operational for all other airline clients. |

Providing services to 110 regular airline clients, Emirates Flight Catering has recruited chefs experienced in every culinary tradition, from sushi for the Japanese routes to a myriad of different curries for the constant stream of flights to the Indian sub-continent.
The Company provided 22 million airline meals in 2006 and is on course to produce over 25.5 million meals in 2007, with a combined average daily meal uplift of 70,000. |

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai visited Emirates Flight Catering, He was briefed about the preparation of various airline meals supplied daily to Emirates.
Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Department and President of the Emirates Airline.
Sheikh Mohammed commented positively on food service standards at the Emirates Flight Catering,He instructed the employees to improve the services rendered to the passengers of Emirates Airline to remain the best in terms of hygiene and quality service.

‘Food Point’ is located in Dubai Investment Park, and opened in July 2005. Built on a land plot of 33000m², it is the only food production facility of its kind between Europe and the Far East. Food Point has an initial capacity to produce 20 million meal equivalents a year, and the facility produces airline meals for Emirates Airline and other airline customers. Meal components such as cooked meats and poultry, curries, stews, soups, stocks and sauces are produced for EKFC and for retail outlets, five star hotels, food service clients and export markets.
‘Linencraft’ is located in Dubai Investment Park adjacent to the Food Point facility.
Linencraft opened in September 2006, and has rapidly become a dynamic part of the Company’s expansion programme. Built on a land plot of 10500m², the facility is the Middle East’s most sophisticated industrial laundering plant and incorporates the latest technology available. It functions on an efficient and integrative design that not only cuts down on operating costs but also reduces water consumption by 50%. Initially processing 50 tons of laundry and dry cleaning per day, the facility will have the capacity to handle 80 tons per day in the future.
